My research focuses in empirical work in various areas of Operations Management, including Service Operations Management, Supply Chain Management and Retail. In my research I have worked in collaboration with big box retail chains in the U.S. and Latin America, a network of U.S. hospitals, IBM and the Chilean Ministry of Education and Chile’s central procurement office (ChileCompra).
I am Associate Editor for Management Science, Manufacturing & Service Operations Management and Senior Editor for Production and Operations Management . I am also co-director of the Institute of Complex Engineering Systems.
I teach undergraduate and MBA classes in Statistics and Operations Management at the University of Chile. At Columbia Business School, I teach PhD classes and the elective Applied Statistics and Data Analysis for the Masters in Management Science & Engineering.
I have a PhD in Operations Management and M.A. in Statistics from The Wharton School in 2007. I did my undergraduate in Industrial Engineering at the University of Chile.
